The Laboratory of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries was established to serve the educational and research needs of the School of Forestry and Natural Environment. Professor Vlachos is mainly responsible for the scientific field that deals with the Biology of Wild Fauna and includes the following items:

  • Conservation of Biodiversity
  • Protection of endagered species
  • Sustainable enjoyment of huntable species
  • Unwanted species control
  • Rearing and release of huntable species
  • Wetlands Ecology and Management

After 32 years of scientific activity in the Laboratory of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries of the School of Forestry and Natural Environment, Professor Vlachos has dealt with all the above courses

He has participated in many international and national conferences, presenting the latest research related to the above disciplines. He has published many scientific papers in international journals and participates in research projects.

Regarding his teaching field, this includes conducting undergraduate and postgraduate courses, laboratory exercises, supervising theses and dissertations, theses dissertations monitoring, organizing and conducting educational field trips and internships for students in the University Forest  of Pertouli.
