I was born and raised
in Nigrita, Serres. I studied in the Pedagogical Academy
of Heraklion, the Pedagogical Department of Primary Education (PDPD) of the Aristotle
University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and the Teachers Training School Dimitris Glinos of PDPE - AUTH. I completed my doctoral dissertation
in the same department (PDPE – AUTH) and its subject was the educational and social
integration of a Roma community.
I worked as a teacher,
Principal and School Counselor in primary education. From 2006 onwards, I have taken
part as instructor – educator in various programs for educators in primary and secondary
education that were organized by the Pedagogical Institute, the Organization for
the Training of Educators and the Regional Training Centers.
My scientific interests
during this period focus on topics relating to:
1.
Multicultural, Anti-Racist and Intercultural Education
2. Equality
& Social Justice in Education
3. Democracy in
schools and classrooms
