Title: Universal Taylor series on arbitrary planar domains
Abstract: In the early 70’s W.Luh and independently Chui and Parnes proved the
existence of universal Taylor series on every simply connected domain G
with respect to one center. The universal approximation was valid outside
the closure of G. In 1996 the previous result was strengthened: the universal
approximation was valid on the boundary of G also. This implied that the
universal functions had several wild properties. In 2000 Gehlen, Luh and
M¨uller proved that on an annulus there are no such universal functions. Now
in collaboration with Ch. Papachristodoulos we prove that for an arbitrary
planar domain G, there are universal Taylor series realizing approximations
on a small part of the boundary of G.
