Professional actiνities (1972-now) :

Teaching and research at Laboratory of Forest Utilisation, Department of Harvesting and Technology of Forest Products, School of Forestry and Natural Environment, AUTH, as graduate assistant from 1972, instructor, lecturer, assistant professor, associate professor and professor from 1994 up to now.

Teaching (lectures, laboratory practical classes, seminars, classes in the field and in the two university forests, supervision of Honour project topics, Master of Science Theses and PhD Theses) to forestry students on Wood Anatomy and Characteristics, Physical and Mechanical properties of Wood, Wood Identification, Conservation and Improvement of Wood, Quality of Wood, European and Tropical Timbers. Preparation of uniνersity lectures for forestry and wood science undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Research on various fields of wood science and wood utilisation.

 Participation in congresses and publications in scientific journals : During the period 1973 – 2015, Ι participated in 81 congresses and conventions (30 national and 51 international) and Ι published fifty (58) research  papers, 20 in national  and 38 in international peer-reviewed scientific journals («International Journal of Wood Preservation», «Holzforschung», «Holzforschung und Holzverwertung», «Journal of the Institute of  Wood Science», «Holz als Roh-und Werkstoff», «Wood and Fiber Science», «IAWA Journal», «ΑΤΙP», «Wood Research» and «Foret Mediterraneenne», «European Journal of Wood and Wood Products», «BioResources», Journal of Agricultural Informatics» ).

Participation in educational seminars, Expert and Technical advisor :

Participation  in about 21 educational seminars and schools as organiser or teacher in different national regions. Preparation and submission of 25 technical reports on specific technical issues of forestry and wood science and technology on national level. Technical advisor and expert in forest and wood industries and in other private organisations and  public bodies and services. Reviewer in national and international scientific journals of forest and wood science.
