Dimitrios P. Lampridis (Dimitris P. Labridis) was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, on July 26, 1958.
He received the Dipl.-Eng. Degree and the Ph.D. degree from the School of Electrical Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), Greece, in 1981 and 1989 respectively.
During 1982-2008 he has been working at first as a research assistant and later as Lecturer, as Assistant Professor and as Associate Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at AUTh, Greece.
Since 2008 he has been Professor at the same School.
Since 2019 he is Director of the Power Systems Lab (PSL)at the same School.
From 2017 until 2020 he was Deputy Head at the same School.
During the academic years 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 he was head of the Department of Electric Energy at the same School.
His special interests are Transmission and Distribution of Electrical Energy, Analysis of Steady State Power Systems, Analysis of Transients in Power Systems, Smart Grids, Smart Lighting Systems, Demand Response and Management Systems, Multiagent Systems, Electrical Load Profiling, Artificial Intelligence in Power Systems, Distributed energy resources, Renewable Energy Sources, Coupled Magneto-Thermal Fields in Power Systems, Power Line Communications, Electric and Magnetic Fields in the vicinity of Power Transmission and Distribution lines.
He has written or co-authored two scientific books and more than 150 transactions and conference papers in international scientific magazines and conferences.
He was the supervisor of 9 PhD
dissertations in the ECE School of AUTh.
He was the supervisor of more than 170 diploma thesis in the ECE School of
AUTh.
He was coordinator or senior researcher in more than 20 European or National
Research Projects.
He has participated as a General Chairman, Session Chairman or Scientific
Committee member in many International Power Electrical Engineering
Conferences.
He is a scientific reviewer in more than 20 International Journals.
He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers (IEEE) since 2001, a Member of Conseil International des Grands
Réseaux Électriques (CIGRÉ) as well as a Member of the Technical Chamber of
Greece (ΤΕE-TCG).
He is an external European Commission Expert in Research Ethics & Integrity (RTD.03.001) at Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (RTD).
He is an external European Commission
Expert assisting the European Union in the evaluation of grant applications,
projects and tenders, and providing opinions and advice in specific cases.
