At Brown Univ.
Teaching Assistant for the course of Statistics (advanced undergraduate/graduate level) in Fall 1988, Fall 1989 and Hilbert Spaces (graduate level) in Fall 1990.
At the American College of Thessaloniki
1993-1999: As assistant professor of mathematics, I have taught Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics and Game Theory.
At Aristotle Univ.
1987-1988: In the framework of the EC Erasmus Project, I taught a course on Optimal Control Theory
1997-1998: I participated in the teaching of the course Intelligent Robot Systems.
2000-Now: I have taught
Calculus,
Linear Algebra,
Ordinary Differential Equations,
Partial Differential Equations and
Complex Variables.
COMPUTER EXPERIENCE
I am interested in both theoretical aspects of computer science and
practical applications of computers.
In the period 1996-2000 I have planned and supervised a number of initiatives ranging
from the scheduling of the use of computer resources
to the development of academic software.
In the period 2001-2003 I have worked on the use of the Mathematica
and Maple computer algebra packages for the teaching of mathematics.
Software Projects
The following list includes some of the applications which I have developed.
Installation and organization of the speech processing complex (software and hardware), Division of Applied Mathematics, Brown University, Providence, RI, USA. 1988-1990.
Database development (personnel, materiel), Informatics Section, VI Division Headquarters, Greek Armed Forces. 1992.
Installation of various software packages (MATLAB, ACSL, MEDAL, MUME, MATCALC) on the workstations of the Robotics Lab of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aristotle University.
Desktop Publishing of the Journal of Liberal Arts, the ACT academic journal.
Development of WEB pages for Aristotle University.
Development of software packages for time series classification and prediction, using algorithms I have developed in collaboration with professor Vassilios Petridis.
Development of course related WEB and hypertext material (using HTML, MathCad, Mathematica, Maple, LaTeX and Microsoft EXCEL).
The automatic translation to database format of several Modern Greek Dictionaries.
A WEB-based bibliographic database application.
Segmenter, a software package for the segmentation of time series.
GSearch, a software package for graph search. It contains a console application for Windows / Linux and a graphical user interface for Windows.
Computer Environments and Software
I have considerable experience with the Unix and Windows environments. The following list includes some of the software packages which I have used extensively in the past.
