Από το 1981 ενεργό μέλος της ερευνητικής ομάδας του τομέα των Κατασκευών του τμήματος των Πολιτικών Μηχανικών του ΑΠΘ. Ερευνητικά θέματα: Μεταλλικές Κατασκευές, Κατασκευές από Αλουμίνιο, Συστήματα Αλουμινίου – Γυαλιού. Μοντέλα αέρα και οι συνέπειες στις κατασκευές και στο περιβάλλον. Αριθμητική μοντελοποίηση των μεταλλικών συνδέσεων και των συνδέσεων αλουμινίου. Αντισεισμικός σχεδιασμός κατασκευών. Έλεγχος των κατασκευών (βέλτιστο/ενεργητικό/παθητικό). Σύμμικτα υλικά. Ανάπτυξη λογισμικού για την ανάλυση των αντίστοιχων προβλημάτων. Μη-γραμμικές μέθοδοι προγραμματισμού στη δομική ανάλυση – Στατικές και Δυναμικές προσεγγίσεις σε όψεις Γυαλιού-Αλουμινίου – Πρωτοποριακές αριθμητικές μέθοδοι σε σύμμικτες κατασκευές και κατασκευές αλουμινίου – Ανάλυση σύμμικτης φέρουσας τοιχοποιίας – Ανάλυση ευαισθησίας και έλεγχος κατασκευών – Ερευνητική δραστηριότητα (1987-1988) στο  Inst. f. Διευθυντής ενός Advanced Research Workshop (2000) πάνω σε  “Paramaount Role of Connections into the Reliable Response of Structures”  στην Ουρανούπολη, Ελλάδα.
