Some Words about Vassilia...

Born in Thessaloniki -Greece- but partly raised in Cairo, Egypt- Vassilia became aware of cultural differences and multilingualism early in her life. She completed a BA in English at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a MA in Linguistics from Leeds University in the United Kingdom.

The topic of her Ph.D. thesis “Language learning strategies of Greek adult EFL learners” was the preliminary step in applying her deeper interest in people’s skills. Ever since, she has looked for ways in integrating in her teaching the learners’ individual characteristics and turning them into strengths.

She believes that in today’s Europe (and beyond) English is the principal medium of international communication in all fields, including science, professional links and international educational or career oriented settings.

Currently she is a Senior Teaching Fellow at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, teaching English for Specific Purposes. She also develops business seminars in English, where she aims to train learners in discovering their skills and using them in real life situations.
