DIMITRIOS TSELEGGIDIS-PROFESSOR OF DOGMATICS
DEPARTMENT OF THEOLOGY
ARISTOTLE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALONIKI
He was born in Liparo village, Pella in 1949.
He graduated from the Department of Theology of Aristotle
University of Thessaloniki in 1971, where in 1984 he was
proclaimed Doctor of Theology with a degree of "Excellent".
He attended postgraduate studies in the Systematic branch of
Theology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki during
the years 1974-76 and at the Roman Catholic and Protestant
Theological faculty of Munich in 1978-80.
In 1975 he was appointed Fellow at the Theological School of
the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in 1984 Lecturer,
in 1988 Assistant Professor, in 1992, Associate Professor
and in 1995 Professor at the Department of Dogmatic
Theology.
He was a visiting professor for many years in foreign
universities. A lot of his articles and essays have been
translated into foreign languages. Since 1984 he teaches in
the Department of Post-graduate studies of the Theological
School.
His main studies are:
1.
"The theology of the image and its anthropological
importance" (Doctoral thesis, Thessaloniki, 1984).
2.
"Grace and Freedom in the Patristic tradition of the
14th century" (1987).
3.
"The doctrine of Salvation in Luther. Contribution to
the study of Luther's theology from an Orthodox point of
view" (1991).
4.
"The satisfaction of the divine justice in Anselm of
Canterbury. Theological approach from orthodox point of
view" (1991).
5.
"Orthodox Theology and Life, Studies in Systematic
Theology" (2005).
6.
"The Soteriology of Western Christianity. A critical
theological approach of the Roman-Catholic and Protestant
Soteriology from an Orthodox perspective" (2012).
7.
"Preconditions and criteria of the Orthodox and
Infallible theology. Theological and Ecclesiological
approaches" (2013).
He participated in local and International conferences and
worked in the drafting of Greek and foreign language
dictionaries. He lectured in Greece and abroad and he made
series of lectures on current issues on his expertise in
radio and television stations in the country.
He speaks German.
He is married and he has four children.
