Stavroula Siachalou

About me

I was born in Thessaloniki , Greece in 1976. I received the diploma and the PhD degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering both from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) , School of Electrical & Computer Engineering in 2000 and 2005 respectively, under the supervision of Prof. Leonidas Georgiadis. My Ph.D. thesis title is "Management of traffic flow in order to maintain quality of service (QoS)". I am now with the teaching personnel of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of AUTh.

My research interests include information routing, resource management and network design. Since 2000, I have participated in nine research programmes, some of which are:

November 2012 - now : RFID-CORE - Development of RF/RFID systems for COntrol and REgistration of goods and personnel

September 2006 - September 2007 : Sign2Talk - A Wearable Sign Language Translation System for Deaf or Hearing-Impaired People

January 2006 - June 2006 : Technical advisor for the development of wideband local area networks and advanced services.

From 2006 to 2014, I was a member of the "Computerization Department" of AUTh. My main focus was to enhance or develop software related to the administrative operation of the University. As a consequence, I gained significant experience on databases, web-applications and cross-platform programming.
