Σύντομο Βιογραφικό Σημείωμα
Ο Δρ. Απόστολος Β. Σκαλτσογιάννης αποφοίτησε το 1980 από το Τμήμα Δασολογίας
της τότε Γεωπονικής και Δασολογικής Σχολής του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης
με βαθμό "Λίαν Καλώς" 8,0 (υπότροφος του Ι.Κ.Υ. σε όλα τα έτη της
φοίτησης), ενώ το 1988 έλαβε το Διδακτορικό Δίπλωμα με τίτλο: "Η συμβολή του πολλαπλασιασμού in
vitro στη γενετική βελτίωση του υβριδίου πεύκης Pinus brutia (Ten.) x Pinus
halepensis (Mill.) (F1)" από το ίδιο Τμήμα. Στη συνέχεια (1992) μετέβη
για μεταδιδακτορική έρευνα στο Εργαστήριο "Interactions Plant-Champignons
et Micropropagation", του Πανεπιστημίου Claude-Bernard, LYON I στη Γαλλία,
χρηματοδοτούμενη από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση. Το 2004 εξελέγη Καθηγητής στο
Εργαστήριο Δασικής Γενετικής και Βελτίωσης Δασοπονικών Ειδών του Τμήματος
Δασολογίας και Φυσικού Περιβάλλοντος του Α.Π.Θ. Από το 2003 έως και σήμερα
είναι Διευθυντής του Εργαστηρίου Δασικής Γενετικής και Βελτίωσης Δασοπονικών
Ειδών. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε
περισσότερα από 70 συνέδρια είτε με προφορική παρουσίαση είτε ως προσκεκλημένος
ομιλητής και επίσης έχει υπάρξει συντονιστής ή κύριος ερευνητής σε περισσότερα
από 25 εθνικά και διεθνή χρηματοδοτούμενα προγράμματα. Από το 2000 έως σήμερα
ήταν ο Επιστημονικός Υπεύθυνος 4 ανταγωνιστικών διακρατικών ερευνητικών
προγραμμάτων, 1 Ελλάδας-Γαλλίας, 1 Ελλάδας-Ρουμανίας και 2 Ελλάδας-πρώην
Γιουγκοσλαβική Δημοκρατία της Μακεδονίας. Από το 1990 έως και σήμερα ήταν ο επιβλέπων
καθηγητής, μέλος συμβουλευτικών επιτροπών και 7μελών εξεταστικών επιτροπών
περισσότερων των 30 μεταπτυχιακών τίτλων (Master και Διδακτορικών) των Τμημάτων
Δασολογίας και Φυσικού Περιβάλλοντος και Γεωπονίας. Είναι συγγραφέας ή
συν-συγγραφέας σε περισσότερες από 100 δημοσιεύσεις σε επιστημονικά περιοδικά
ενώ μέχρι σήμερα έχουν καταγραφεί περισσότερες από 170 ετεροαναφορές (h
index: 7) του συγγραφικού του έργου σε Διεθνή Επιστημονικά
Περιοδικά και σε Διεθνή Επιστημονικά Βιβλία. Επιπλέον, είναι κριτής
σε 5 Διεθνή Επιστημονικά Περιοδικά. Το 2008 μετέφρασε και είχε την Επιστημονική
επιμέλεια του διδακτικού βιβλίου με τίτλο «Forest Genetics» υπό White, Adams,
Neale (2007), Εκδ. “ΕΜΒΡΥΟ”. Τέλος, το
2003 βραβεύτηκε με το A’ Βραβείο Θετικών Επιστημών «Εμμανουήλ Μπενάκη» της
Ακαδημίας Αθηνών για την εργασία: "Allozyme differentiation in the
Mediterranean firs. A first comparative study with phylogenetic
implications". (Plant Systematics and Evolution, 216 (3-4): 289-307).

Short CV
Dr Apostolos B. Scaltsoyiannes graduated (BSc) from
the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment - Aristotle University of
Thessaloniki, Greece (Scholarship from Institute for National Scholarships) in
1980 and in 1988 acquired his PhD in Forest Genetics and Plant Breeding at the
same Department. In 1992 accomplished his Post-doctoral research in the
Laboratory "Interactions Plant-Champignons et Micropropagation",
University Claude Bernard, Lyon I, France, funded by EEC. In 2004 he
was elected at the position of Professor of the Forest Genetics and Plant
Breeding Laboratory, of the Faculty of Forestry and Natural Environment, AUTH.
From 2003 until today is the Director of the Laboratory of Forest Genetics and
Plant Breeding, Faculty of Forestry and Natural Environment, AUTh. He has
participated in more than 70 conferences with either oral presentation of as
invited speaker and was the coordinator or main researcher of more than 25
national and international funded projects. From 2000 until today he has been
the Scientific Coordinator of 4 bilateral research projects: 1 between
Greece-France, 1 between Greece-Romania and 2 between Greece-Former
Yugoslav Republic
of Macedonia.
From 1990 until today he was the supervisor or member of advising committees
and 7-member judging committees of over 30 graduate students (Master and
Doctoral) of the Faculty of Forestry and Natural Environment and the Faculty of
Agriculture, AUTh. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers as author or co-author in scientific
journals and until today there have been recorded over 170 citations (h index:
7) of his published papers in International
Scientific magazines and International
Scientific Volumes. At the same time has served as a reviewer of 5
International scientific journals. In 2008 translated in Greek and edited the
book under the title: “Forest Genetics” by White, Adams and Neale, 2007 (Embryo
Publications). In 2003 he was awarded from the Academy
of Science of Athens "Emmanouil Benaki" for the
paper: “Allozyme differentiation in the Mediterranean firs. A first comparative
study with phylogenetic implications”. (Plant Systematics and Evolution,
