I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Informatics of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. My research interests lie in the broad field of deep learning (DL), ranging from representation learning and lightweight DL to robotic perception and emerging hardware architectures for accelerating DL. During 2018-2019, I was postdoctoral researcher in the Laboratory of Signal Processing of Tampere University working under the Multimedia Research Group led by Prof. Moncef Gabbouj.

In 2018, I successfully defended my PhD thesis (‘Deep Learning Methods for Data Analysis’, supervisor: Prof. Anastasios Tefas). My PhD research was funded by a competitive research grant from the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI) and General Secretariat of Research and Technology (GSRT) (Best natural science proposal from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 5th among 136 funded proposals in Natural Sciences). In 2013, I graduated from the School of Informatics of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, while I received the M.Sc. in Computer Science from the same institute in 2015.
