Associate Professor Myronidis Dimitris was initially appointed Lecturer in Mountainous Water Management and Control at the School of Forestry and Natural Environment of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2011. He currently teaches Hydrology, Geomorphology, Water Resource Management and Control and Geoinformatics Application on Mountainous Water Management, and is the Department Coordinator of eight inter-institutional agreements with foreign universities under the Erasmus+ framework. From 2005 to 2010, he was a Scientific Associate of the Laboratory of Mountainous Water Management and Control at the Technological Educational Institute of Kavala, Greece, where he taught the same subjects.

His main scientific activity is related to the interpretation and quantitative estimation of geomorphological and hydrological processes, as well as the development of different techniques for forecasting, measuring and monitoring erosion phenomena, land degradation, desertification, flood and drought risk. He has peer-reviewed papers for more than 40 international journals and was a scientific committee member at 28 national and international conferences. He has participated in 15 research projects, and has 55 research papers in total, either published in Greek and international journals or presented at international conferences, 30 of which are indexed by Scopus (15 h-index). He has evaluated and certified investment proposals, research programs and investments for various Greek entities, such as the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, the State Scholarships Foundation, the General Secretariat of Research and Technology, the Youth & Lifelong Learning Foundation and the ANKI Development Agency.

Finally, he has lectured on issues related to water resource management at nine (9) foreign universities: [[Bordeaux Sciences Agro (2019), University of Nis (2018), Fan S. Noli (2018), Universidad Católica de Ávila (2017), Lomonosov Moscow State University (2017), Wrocław University of Environmental and Life sciences (2017), Universitat Politècnica de València (2016), Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (2016)]. Moreover, he has successfully completed seven (7) mobility missions for training at universities abroad [BAS - Space Research and Technology Institute (2019), University of Kyiv (2018), Haifa University (2017), Novi Sad University (2016), Romanian Νational Ιnstitute of Ηydrology and Water Management (2015), Stockholm University (2014), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (2011)].

Finally, he recently published his first book entitled “Hydrology and Hydraulics” (In Greek).
